In 1975 Ray was Production Floor Supervisor at Valtec Company, Fiberoptic Lightguide division. He designed prototypes for high-loss fiber bundle products and fiberoptic illuminator assemblies eventually becoming Manager of Strategic Planning and Development, Accessory Products and Designed and managed production of Valtec fiberoptic splice enclosure cable assemblies and interconnect products and supervised customer training on product use.
Ray moved on in 1984 to become Director of Engineering, and Co-Founder of
Brand Rex Fiberoptics. He created the Brand Rex Fiberoptics product line.
These products included OSP splicing products, fiber splice enclosures,
premise wiring products, and pre-wired interconnect products.

In 1990 Ray became Chief Engineer, Product Manager, and Co-Founder of Century Fiber Optics. He established Century product line as a major player in the industry, introduced Century Fiber optics into Fiber-to-the-Home marketplace, and field tested FTTH products with RCN and TMLP eventually leading to FTTP (Fiber To The Premise).
In 2004 Ray founded and became president of OCI Interconnect and has developed a hands on policy working with with everyone from OEM customers to field technicians from concept to final product implementation.
